"Inspired by the Creator's works,
I experience and paint.
I paint and experience."
Mark Selter grew up in the Crescent Hill area of Louisville, Kentucky. He served ten years in military service, beginning in 1975. While stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the 101st Pathfinders, he began to paint.
In the early 90's, Mark moved to a piece of land in Meade County, Kentucky. He built a studio and living quarters in one end of a large pole barn and lived a simple life with no electricity or running water. Here, he pursued his painting full time.
Now, living in Marion County, Kentucky since 1997, surrounded with knobs and nature, he continues to reflect, in painting, the beauty that inspires him.
